The new White Ice Putters from Odyssey are high on the Golf Digest Hot List for 2010, and combine Tour trusted shapes with a new look and better feel. The new White Ice Insert is the company’s best feeling, multi-layer insert to date. It has been developed after extensive feedback from players on Tour, and engineers have enhanced the sound, responsiveness and consistency of the insert. The face surface has been roughened to enhance the sound at impact with the softer golf balls that are available. The rough texture also helps increase friction between the ball and the insert which in turn promotes forward roll. Coupled with a neat, new Dark Nickel finish, the new White Ice putters combine Tour-proven looks with Tour-inspired feel.
The multi-material insert is designed to give consistent, “slightly-softer-than-steel” acoustics for all ball constructions. The new light insert also saves nearly 60 grams to push the center of gravity rearward. The Number 1 is a traditional heel-toe-weighted model with a plumber’s-neck hosel. The Number 2 has a short, flow-neck hosel. And the Number 9 has a longer flow-neck hosel with an extended pear flange.

Some player comments about the White Ice Putters:
“No hops here. Even if you hit it on the toe, you get a good roll. And I love the sound.”……”The kind of club you want to prop against a chair after the round just to admire it.”……”You look down at it, and you’d think it cost three hundred.
Pros:
The company have done plenty of audio research to make this insert perform
in a techy but familiar way. It’s an insert for even the harshest insert critic.
Cons:
Maybe Odyssey, as the Number 1 putter company, could produce a bigger and more extensive range of blades to go with all of their mallets!
